Class Blog for Nursery

W/C Monday 11th January

Dear all!

What a week it has been! We have welcomed back some of our lovely children who have settled back in brilliantly, and we are missing all of those little faces that haven't been able to return yet.

Last week we learned the nursery rhyme Jack and Jill, and the children had fun making crowns, building a hill to tumble down and making a well out of an old cardboard box! This week, we will be learning the rhyme I'm a little teapot. We will look at where tea comes from and how it is turned in to teabags. We will be making lots of teapot themed crafting projects such as clay/playdoh teapots, collages, paintings. We will discover whether we can use different flavoured teabags for painting.

We will be looking at the story of The Tiger That Came To Tea. Our week will end with us baking scones to enjoy in our very own tea party! In maths we will be exploring shapes, learning the names of 2d shapes and their simple properties, and exploring our environment for shapes all around us. Hopefully, you will all be able to use these ideas to learn along with us from home, the stories and songs can be found on YouTube.

We look forward to seeing you all again soon.
