Our school council is made up of representatives from each class across the school.
The children are chosen by their class and usually change each school year.
The council meets regularly and they discuss and suggest ways to make the school a better place. Ideas have included raising money for playground equipment, having bake sales to help pay for trips and talking about behaviour in classrooms and at playtimes.
The children also talk about how to help those less fortunate and have raised money for charities, collected food for local food banks and discussed food waste and how to lessen it.
There is always something on their agenda!
Currently the council are working on obtaining funding to improve our outdoor environment. Following a whole school competition on designing a playground, they have picked out common features and are now in the process of getting quotes from companies for colorful shelters that could be erected on the school grounds. We will let you know how this goes.
