Each term our School Council members become Learning Detectives, supporting our Senior Leadership Team in monitoring and developing learning behaviours in the classroom. Our Learning Detectives use their own monitoring form to gather evidence then provide feedback to the teachers and pupils on what they observed and suggestions for improvements. So what is the impact of their work? Firstly, the teaching staff have heard feedback from the pupils and make changes to the way they teach (their pedagogy) because they have listened to the children saying what helps them to learn. Secondly, the rest of our school community hear the feedback and this supports us all in having a greater understanding of learning and a greater responsibility for our own learning. We are all improving our skills at unpicking learning and discussing ourselves as learners.
