Unfortunately, it seems that Tapestry has completely crashed this morning and therefore, I am listing the home learning for today, below:-
Please use this link to access the dance today. It is keeping within our winter's theme and the dance is called "Freeze". Please pause the video to go over some of the moves with the children as it is quite fast!! Enjoy! https://app.gonoodle.com/activities/freeze?sp=search&sn=search&st=video%20versions&sid=1104
How many facts can you find out about the Arctic? Where is it in the world? What is the weather like? What does it look like? Do people live there? (adults please do not investigate the animals at this stage as it is tomorrow's learning).
There is a video on Tapestry that I cannot upload here as it is too big. However, we are re-capping the sound "th". Please can you model and write (with sound buttons) the words think, thin, thick, moth, teeth, with, path and bath. Please also follow the links to phonics play and practise "phase 3" then "ch", "sh" and "th". The children have to click and drag the words to the treasure if they are real words or the bin if they are fake words. https://www.phonicsplay.co.uk/resources/phase/2/buried-treasure
Can you design your own Winters clothes (hat, scarf and gloves). The template is attached below. Extra Challenge: Can you make them using wool/material?
Handwriting for the week
Please can you practise the letters q, g and d. This can be completed outside using chalk, paintbrush dipped in water, in sand or soil. You could also write the letter yourself for the children to copy.
This lesson is a consolidation of learning. Please follow the attached link to two games. Please also count forwards and backwards to 20 pointing to the number line on the attached document. https://www.topmarks.co.uk/early-years/lets-compare
Can your child make an igloo out of lego? (or any other building blocks). Please upload your pictures to Tapestry when it is working again!
If Tapestry continues to crash then the learning may have to be accessed from here unfortunately. The downside to this is that we will not be able to share any videos which is a real shame. If anyone has an idea for me to be able to do this, please let me know!
I hope that you have had a lovely weekend.
The learning uploaded to Tapestry for today is Maths, Geography, Dance, DT and two phonics lessons. I have also added handwriting for the week.
There is one assignment per day for the Reading Eggs and two Mathletics assignments over the week.
Now that I have had a bit more time to plan, I will also be adding activities for "Continuous Provision". CP supports the children's learning in school throughout the day so I thought that it would be nice if you could complete one activity of this kind at home. You can spread them out across the week or do two in one day, it is up to you. I hope that the children enjoy them :)
The English this week is all about the Arctic and the animals that can be found there. By the end of the week, the children will have completed their very own fact file of three of the animals - so please follow the journey carefully on Tapestry :)
The photo provided today is of a child's poem last Friday. I thought it was fantastic and a brilliant example of how all of the children have progressed since September!
Take care all - until tomorrow!
An absolute super well done for this weeks learning. I have received some beautiful work already and you are all doing a great job!
There are 5 lessons on tapestry for today - English, Maths, Phonics, Craft and Science. The Science can be completed over a period of time (i.e all next week) and so the results will be due in next Friday. The Craft is optional. The pictures for the English are attached below if you need them. I have also added some extra activities for phonics to consolidate this week's learning which are optional to complete.
Each week, I will upload photos of WAGOLL'S (what a good example looks like) so that we can celebrate the good work being achieved.
I have also uploaded an assignment for each day next week on Reading eggs and two Mathletics assignments to be across the week. This should be more than enough work for them to do!
I have just uploaded a photo from a parent which lifted my mood and is fitting with our Winter topic.
Have a lovely weekend everyone!
Please find attached supporting files for the learning uploaded onto tapestry. I have also added two more assignments onto Mathletics and Reading eggs that are due to be completed by end of Friday.
There are four lessons to complete today - maths, gymnastics, phonics and english.
Keep going everyone you are doing a great job!
